Position of the stock

3-D Modelled a custom compound gear assembly and created a tool path to generate a CNC program for a HAAS VF-4SS MILLING/TURNING machine.

Debugged code for tolerance errors and reduced machine time to 34 minutes.

The compound gear design consisted of a total of 3 components.


TOOLS USED

For this manufacturing process, I used around 8-10 tools and 2 different setups to work on the two faces of the part.

GENERATING THE CODE

The to types of code used for the setup of this cycle were G-code and M-code, G-code controlled the geometry and the position of the part at each point of time while M -code is responsible for all the operations done by the machine arm such as milling , turning, switching tools , adding coolant, etc.
